Kelly Made Me Laugh!

In response to my progress photos, Kelly stated:

"I see a difference too. Especially in your face. :P just kidding." ...

I laughed so hard I snorted.

Some things just really strike you as funny, and this did.

Thank you for the laugh, Kelly.

Lazy A$$

I am having a terrible case of lazy a$$.

Who died and made me queen?

I don't feel like doing anything! And the scary part is I'm NOT doing anything.

I have laundry to do, dishwasher to unload and reload, floors to vacuum, bathrooms to clean. Supper to thaw. I have bills to do and a major project to finish.

Most importantly, I have groceries to buy.

Here I sit. Doing nothing.

I got up before 6 this morning -- that is amazing, if you know me. Drove the new used car to the shop to have something looked at, dropped DH off at work. I even bought coffee and milk, as we were out. I didn't bother to get other things we need.

Came home, started trying to get caught up on blogs. I got sleepy. Checked my son, he was still feverish and sleeping, so I didn't wake him. I took a nap for a half hour.

The alarm went off, I got up, checked my son, played with the dogs, and then set the alarm for 45 more minutes.

That went off, I got up, got my son up. (He's feeling better today, but still not 100%.) We started school. He was doing his work, I was trying to catch up on blogs. I read a few, and got stopped at Ang's blog. I clicked her link and watched Richard Simmons on QVC and decided to order the DVDs. QVC's website kept screwing up. Froze my computer twice as I was trying to make my account. Finally got that figured out, and it wouldn't let me order. I tried for a half hour. Waste of time, because in 30 seconds I ordered on the phone. Go figure. The DVDs are a gift to myself with love. =)

Eating wise, I am starving. I knew that would happen. 1) I got up way early. 2) Yesterday I was not hungry at all. I had to force myself to consume 18 points to get to my target last night. Just wasn't feeling like eating at all. When that happens, the next day I am ravenous.

So the question is: Will I get off my lazy butt and get something done? Will the lure of the internet catch me and devour me? I am feeling guilty I'm behind on blogs. I love to read them and offer support. Or, will I channel my type-A mother, go on a cleaning frenzy and get it together?

I don't know. I have eat lunch first.

Excuses, excuses.

Why can't I ever have the whole package...doing well on eating, exercise and my "job"? I always seem to do well in one or two areas, but never everything.

I do know this: I am being purely lazy. There's no way around it, call a spade a spade. Lazy isn't good.

Tuesday Afternoon (Off Topic Stuff)

It's a beautiful day, the birds are singing, the sun is shining...and we're stuck inside.

My son is sick with some virus. He was up all night, and I think I got about three and a half hours of sleep. My sweet 13 year old still needs his mom when he throws up. I don't do anything, other than clean up the bathroom, but I think he still needs my comfort. That I will gladly give.

My dogs have pink eye. We have to skip this week's obedience class.

I'm tired and overwhelmed.

I've been in a mood since Friday.

I just feel like being completely selfish right now and holing up in my home, avoiding everyone and everything. Instead, I have one the busiest weeks I've had in a long time, and I'm dragging.

So much to do, no desire to do it, and I just don't care. lol

UGH

Eating within points, need to go to the grocery store, but doing fine with no cravings or desires to go off plan. Today. This weekend I had a few evil thoughts that I had to stomp out.

I am way behind on reading blogs. I hate that, as I like to keep up with how everyone is doing.

Life goes on, I gotta get caught up.

My Banner Photo

I love this template because it matches the coffee cup my son made me, but I haven't been happy with the header. I put a photo in last night. It still doesn't zing and pop, but it has a lot of meaning to me.

One of my hobbies is genealogy. This photo was taken in Kansas. The property is where my great-great grandparents moved to in the 1870s. They owned the section to the left. My grandmother was born there in the late 1800s. The house is gone, but I know some of the trees are the same. And the road...I look at that road and I know that my ancestors walked it many, many times. Directly behind me is the cemetery, where their baby daughter was buried. I know they traveled that road to visit her grave.

I can envision my great-grandfather as a child, running down the road. I can see him getting cleaned up and courting my great-grandmother. I say that as I sit at their kitchen table. This oak table has hosted meals for six generations, with more to come. I can only imagine the fat and calories this table has held!

I haven't worked on genealogy for some time. I miss it. I love traveling, walking cemeteries, searching records to see where my family lived. As I'm losing weight and feeling better, I know walking those cemeteries will become easier for me. Especially due to the fact I usually do this in the hot summer sun. I think to how my grandparents walked and walked. Even my mother was car-less with two small children, so she walked, too. Necessity. Now I hop in a car without thinking.

I think of them sometimes when I'm walking my dog at night. Something I force myself to do, which was something they didn't even think about: they just did it.

So the photo is a special part of me.

Happy Easter!
