The Blog is the Glue!

Celebrating Stephen today, as he was on TV this morning. He gave a great interview. He's looking amazing as well!

The thing that he said that really connected with me was: The blog has been the glue that held it altogether. Amen to that.

With my blog, I feel it's been so negative yet it has been my glue as well. I very, very easily could have given up at any second since last October. The past few weeks have been harder emotionally than I'd care to admit. I said many times,"I give up, and bad word starting with an F it." Only I didn't. I always had the spark in there, it was just dim.

This blogging community is pretty darned inspiring. Amazing accomplishments are inspiring! Best wishes to Stephen with the upcoming marathon!!!

Stephen, you look amazing! Way to go. =)

Tears of Joy

I cried for 15 minutes straight tonight, so happy for an online friend who had a very special day today. Nothing makes me happier than being able to celebrate a friend's geat success. =) Will elaborate more tomorrow when said friend has made an announcement on said friend's blog.

***********
****EDITED TO ADD:***** The friend I cried for is none other than Sean Anderson! He reached goal, and has lost 275 pounds! I was just overcome, I was so happy for him!

*************

I'm no longer worried over DH's job. It is what it is. There are no guarantees in life, and there is absolutely no sense in worrying about something which he nor I have any control.

I'm down 1.5 pounds from my last posted weight on my sidebar! 193.5. Another thing I will no longer worry about: my sloooow losses. It is what it is. I KNOW I will get to goal. I had hoped it would be sooner, but it's not. I'll take it no matter what. 89 pounds down.

Looking ahead, I've bounced around goal numbers since I started this journey. I never knew what I wanted my goal weight to be. I put it high, then reduced it a bit. I think I'm aiming for 150, 149 or 148. lol I'll call goal when I get to 150. That's ONLY 43.5 pounds. That's a helluva lot better than 132 to lose! Go me. I'm really hoping my body will cooperate and release these pounds within the next year!

I have one pair of jeans that fit well at the moment. Had to buy new sweatpants to wear around the house because they're $6 and cheaper than jeans. (And more comfy!) Out of instinct, I bought size XLG. WRONG. Had to go back and buy a large. I also bought a medium just to see. The large works well for comfort. The medium fits but is a tad tight. I keep thinking it's vanity sizing because my belly is still big. Maybe it is, but whatever, that's the size in the store that fits me now. Yay.

Waiting to do my hormone test until the right day. Wish that were in the mail, but have to follow the rules. Hoping that helps. I've had twinges or very light pains every day--nothing that interrupts my day-to-day life, though. Next time that nasty pain hits, I will go to the ER. Period. It was that bad. I have a sneaky suspicion it's on its way back, as I've felt more pressure in the spot that hurts today than I have since it was really bad. Taking aspirin to fight inflammation. Hope that helps.

That's about it. I just feel SOOOOOOOOO happy tonight for someone so wonderful. Great joy indeed!

Seashore at Goal!!!

I am so very happy this morning. I'm so behind on blog reading, but just hit up my blogging friend/fellow border collie lover Seashore's blog. What did I find?

My Friend Lindsey

I found a blog through a fitness site that I have been enjoying very much. She's a hidden treasure--she's got a great blog and she needs more followers. I thought I'd share her blog here because I really enjoy it.

Fitness For the Rest of Us

Please drop by and follow her!

I enjoy her blog because she reviews fitness videos and does so honestly. I always agree with her reviews when she reviews something I have. I've also purchased a couple based on her recommendations and have been very happy.

But that's not all! Lindsey also gives health tips, ranging from healthy foods to recipes to great ideas. She also shares bargains. Her blog is very well written, nicely organized, and a great read.

Lindsey is "one of us." She lost 90 pounds and has kept it off. She gave a testimonial for the Firm and she was also in The Firm's Wave video. (One of the few Firm sets I don't have, I'm not sure which she's in--maybe she'll let us know!) She's also been featured in Collage Video's catalog as a success story. Not only that, just recently she was featured in a special bridal edition of Shape Magazine!

In a nutshell, Lindsey is extremely inspirational. Visit and enjoy!

Be Happy

One of my favorite bloggers, whom I've followed since the beginning of her journey, has made goal. Who doesn't know Fat[Free}Me? I think everyone knows her, as she is such an inspiration and such an amazing supporter. I am so happy for her! Yes, I got teary eyed when I read that magic word on her blog: GOAL.

Way to go!!!

~~~
I just read that Jack LaLane is recovering from heart surgery. He had a valve replacement done. I knew he was old, but I had no idea he was 95! Wow. My husband and I were discussing him, and he never watched the Jack LaLane Show. I watched it when I was a kid, and described his one-piece uniform. I went to YouTube and found a clip for us to watch. I found a great clip, and I'm going to share it here. His message is as valid when he made it as it is today. What an amazing man. I hope he has a speedy recovery.
Shelley Rocks!
I'm Johni come lately tonight, as I've been busy all day. Still wide awake, I decided to hit up blogs. First up (and probably last as I'm getting tired) was Shelley's.
I get very emotional, and when I read her blog title and then the entry, I actually teared up. Yes, I actually have tears of joy for her rolling down my cheeks.
Shelley has lost 100 pounds.
Now I'm sure everyone already knows this as Shelley is one cool, super-supportive, kind and wonderful blogger. Woman's Day affirms my belief, as Shelley is mentioned in their upcoming issue.
All I can say is it couldn't have happened to a more lovely person.
Way to go, Shelley. I am beyond happy for you!
Significant Milestone Award
266 has created an award and given it to me for a significant milestone reached. In my case, it was hitting the 50-pound lost mark. Thank you so much!
I am going to pass this award on to two people who just recently had significant milestones:
Missy who reached goal!!! It doesn't get any more significant than that!
Dawn who doesn't participate in awards (that's okay!) but I just have to share this anyway because she reached ONEderland!
Thank you, 266!
Sunday
Another blogging friend had an amazing victory! Dawn reached ONEderland. Congrats, Dawn. Dawn is an amazing person, and I am greatly inspired by her. I am just tickled pink for her! (And yes, again, I did get teary eyed.)
Friday I pulled a muscle in my back. Saturday it was still hurting, but I did a very easy FIRM tape with no weights. Instead of getting any work done yesterday, I rested. I used my heating pad, we snuggled up and watched a movie, and my son used his magic elbow on my sore back and worked the kink out. Today it's barely noticeable, but I'm not going to work out. I think in our quest for health, we sometimes forget how very important rest is. That doesn't mean we need to take a day off all the time, but it does mean we need to listen to our bodies. Mine today says rest from exercise.
We have a lot to do for my son's upcoming birthday trip. Why is it that it takes so much preparation to go away for two days? He's very excited and wants to do more than we can pack into that time frame. Luckily my energy is so much better that I'll be able to do more than we did last year. Luckily he wants to go see Toy Story in 3D, so I'll get a good rest during that movie. That was one of his favorite movies when he was little, so it will be fun to re-visit it--in 3D!
The Epilepsy Foundation in Minnesota comes to our small town about every six-eight weeks in good weather months to pick up curb-side donations. This is my favorite place to donate to, as my son has epilepsy. They'll be coming in a week, so today I need to go through my closet yet again and bag up my old clothes that are in good enough condition to donate. I also need to wash those smaller jeans that I found awhile back so I have clothes to wear. Our weather finally turned, so I have to say goodbye to my capris. It's going to be difficult to clear my closet of them. Scary. Not the smartest thing to donate in the fall, I suppose. I've been smart and pulling the clothing that is too big out of the dryer and putting it into a bag that I keep right there. So I will have a nice donation bag for them. It's quite amazing that my husband has more clothes than I do. I used to have so many clothes that I took up a couple closets--back in the days when I worked. Now I have very little. There's comfort in numbers, and it's scary for me to let go. Yet if I don't, there won't be room for me to grow.
Now it's time for me to get up and tackle that closet.
Read Sean's amazing story here.
I found Sean's blog awhile ago, and I found him through a comment he left on someone else's blog. He was writing about forgiveness, and when I went to his blog, I read one of the most amazing stories about forgiving ever. He's a wonderful person.
I am so happy for you and your family!
