Goal Weight Changed

I changed my goal weight.

Originally it had been 172.5. That was out of the obese range, 110 to lose, and not so scary to me that it seemed impossible.

When I joined Richard's Clubhouse and input my information, they gave me a weight range with 162 beng the top. I chose 162. Weight Watcher's top for me was 150. That just seemed to skinny, too impossible to obtain. I think I can deal with 162.

When I get there, I may change it. For now, it's not too overwhelming. 18.5 down, 102 to go.

Exercise!

I did Sweatin' to the Oldies II today. It was great.

I won't post these every single day, but for this week, while it's my "I can do that" I will.

I added a calendar to my side bar, but I'm not sure I like it. I want to record my exercise and keep it on my blog sidebar. Any suggestions?

Today I wore shoes while I did my aerobics. I have had a brand-new pair of Reeboks in my closet for the longest time, but I hate wearing shoes. I like mules because they go on and off fast and easy. I was reading it's important to wear good shoes, so I bit the bullet and did it. I'm glad I had them so I didn't need to spend any money.

Monday Weigh-In Day

Woo-hoo!

I Can Do That

I was reading blogs today, and I cannot remember who wrote about making weekly goals, but I had been thinking of doing that, too. Maybe my first goal should be on memory work.

I'm going to call my weekly goals my "I Can Do That's" because I really like that phrase.

So my ICDT for this week:

Exercise every day for at least 30 minutes.

You on a Diet recommends walking 30 minutes daily. Well, I like doing exercise videos better. Plus, when I walk Pip, he stops and we have to train a bit along the way so I can't keep my heart rate up. So, I can do both.

I know I need to add in strength training, but for now, I'm going to plan on making this exercise thing a habit. I NEED to for my health. Just like taking a shower every day, exercise is a must, too. (Oprah said that ages ago, and I've always remembered it, but it's time to put it to action.)

Why is it?

Why is it...

That when I buy frozen chicken breasts, they're either tiny weighing in at under 3 ounces or they're huge? Tonight's breasts all weighed 7 ounces. I had points for that much chicken, and I saw they were big and thawed three anyway, but why is there no consistency?

That my hubby decided to re-caulk the bathtub today? I guess it's a good thing, but we won't be able to shower in there for a few days and I haven't cleaned the dungeon--er, basement bath. Why didn't he do it while I was gone? Or give me notice? Sheesh, I b*tch when he's accomplishing something on my long honey-do list.

That on yahoo groups and various places on the internet, people want to loose weight? Now I want my clothes to be loose, but I don't want my weight to be loose. (Just a pet peeve of mine! lol)

That every time I decide to wash all my bedding, including the comforter, one of my two cats throws up on the bed? I washed the whole works today and I'm in that bedroom every ten minutes checking...so far so good, but the night's not over yet. If they don't today, it will be a first in a year. They normal routine is I wash all the bedding, one of them does its thing, and then I have to wash the bedding again. Then we're good to go until next time. (Comforter, not sheets, that is.)

That I have a sit-down discussion with my family about nutrition, talking about the long-lasting effects on our health, that no one seems to listen? By no one, I mean the hubby. Tonight we had steamed chicken breasts, rice and salad. My husband gets up and pours a gallon (well, not quite) of Ranch dressing all over his rice and chicken, and my son grabs the bottle. I get to be the mean mom and say you may pour a small amount on the side and dip your food into it. grrr My son was shocked to learn that 2 tbls of Ranch dressing contains 11 grams of fat.

That my husband complains about menus, wanting his own food, we work out a good compromise, and then he agrees to everything on the menu and doesn't want his own food? Then he'll swipe my thawing hamburger and grill some burgers, or say "let's wing it tonight" because he doesn't want what's on the menu? Today I made the menu, showed it to him, asked him what he wanted from the store and which item he didn't want to eat. Watch, he'll do it this week. lol

I have to laugh at my why-is-it list today. It's my way of laughing at myself and all the silly things that make me ponder during the course of a day.

Week 10 Menu

Monday- Crockpot cheeseburgers*, Steak fries, tomato juice, salad

Tuesday- Cheesy Chicken, noodles, corn

Wednesday- omelets, hash browns, tomato juice, English muffins

Thursday-out

And Again...

Richard Simmons Sweatin' to the Oldies....DONE! Two days in a row. Woot!

Now I'm off to do my menu planning and grocery list. Hopefully I'll make it to the store tonight.
