Amazing Day

I had another amazing day.

The other night I voiced, meditated, prayed on loneliness. I have several very good friends--deeply good friends. I'm very fortunate. Sadly, none live anywhere near. The closest is three hours away. So I miss the face-to-face contact, and talk on the phone a lot.

Last night when we were at Subway, I ran into a gal that I really like. We were in Cub Scouts together, our sons got along really well, and we got together a few times. As it turns out, life got in the way for me and we lost contact. I just felt it was pretty amazing that we met out of the blue. We're planning on getting together to catch up.

Today, I woke up really late. I couldn't sleep last night as I was in deep thought about life in general. Once I got up, started coffee and blogs, the phone rang. Two and a half hours later, I hung up. It was my aunt and uncle calling. We had the most amazing conversation--powerful, funny, uplifting.

After that I spent some time with my poor neglected son (who was having a blast doing some game and playing with the dogs). I started to do my chores when the phone rang again. This time it was a good friend from the east coast. We chatted for a long while, laughed a lot, bitched a bit, and had a great conversation.

Got busy with some housework, cooked supper and the phone rang again. This time it was a good friend in Colorado and we talked for 2 1/2 hours. I had to cut the call short because Nurse Jackie was coming on, and I just love that show! lol This was the most powerful call of all, as we talk through some of our issues together. I learned a lot about myself during this conversation.

Watched Nurse Jackie--I am really glad I have Showtime, because I really enjoy that show! Oops, I said that. Sat down, visited with my son, then it was bedtime for him and here I sit.

When you put things out there through prayer, meditation, asking the universe -- however you choose, you get an answer: either yes or no. Today my answer was yes.

While I got virtually nothing that shows done today, it was a powerful day. Some people out there do love me. I have some fantastic people in my life. So what if we are separated by miles. I just felt so rich. I told my son that sometimes our plans get bumped because other good things need to come in. That's what happened today. I helped take away the loneliness of my aunt and uncle. My uncle sorely misses my dad. I think we reach out to each other to fill that void. I had some good giggles and vents with one friend. I had a fantastic therapy session with another--and she also had a fantastic therapy session with me.

Ding, ding, ding.

The only ones who didn't get their good day was the dogs. We had thunderstorms come in right as we were going to go on our walk. Our dogs hate thunder. I thought we'd attempt it anyway, and just as we were getting the leashes out, it started pouring. So no exercise for any of us today. Will have to make up for that tomorrow. Also have to catch up on blogs tomorrow.

To top off my great day, I had my old-fashioned diet plate for dinner: hamburger patty, cottage cheese and peaches. I had a salad, too. Oh my, it was as yummy as I remember. I thought of both mom and dad as I prepared that, and of meals past in the 70s. I bet they didn't have 95% fat-free ground beef back then! lol

Jo, we all seem happier when we are busy, but not TOO busy! Less time to fret and worry, I guess.

  7. ahhh what a great day! It sounds like God prompted some people to call you-- to remind you of all of the friendships that you do have. And he knew you needed a friend day. That was really neat about running into that lady at Subway. I'm glad you had such a great day. I hope today will be happy for you too!
